Welcome to Byways
Welcome to Byways holiday accommodation, situated in Birnam by Dunkeld within beautiful Highland Perthshire, where a friendly welcome from Joanne and Gordon awaits you. Byways, which has been trading since the late 70's, offers quality accommodation in the picturesque village of Birnam just a short walk to the River Tay and the Birnam Oak mentioned in Shakespeare's MacBeth. The building of the Thomas Telford Bridge over the River Tay joined Birnam and Dunkeld in 1809. The train station is located within walking distance and there is a regular bus service to Perth and local areas.
In Birnam, you are virtually in the geographical centre of Scotland which means that trips to places like Edinburgh, Inverness and Loch Ness, Oban, The Trossachs, Fort William and Cairngorm National Park can be easily achieved within the same day. More locally, it is just a short walk to Dunkeld where you can browse the local shops, visit the cathedral or just sit by the river and feed the ducks. Also, there is a terrific choice of walks, golf courses, angling and tourist attractions and for the more adventurous there is white water rafting, canoeing, cycling and mountain biking and much more.
